About the 35th District
The 35th District comprises the Historic City of Paterson, and the surrounding suburban communities of Glen Rock, Haledon, Hawthorne, North Haledon, Prospect Park and Totowa. It is a District rich with history, diversity and spirit.
Paterson is the third largest city in New Jersey, and easily the 35th District’s largest community. The Silk City is where many residents of the surrounding communities have deep roots.
Hawthorne is the second largest largest community in the District, and the Senator’s hometown.
Glen Rock is the only Bergen County municipality and the third largest community in the District.
Totowa sits to the west of Paterson, and is the fourth largest community in the District.
Haledon shares Paterson’s proud history as cradle of the Labor movement, and is home to the American Labor Museum.
North Haledon is nestled between the northern extremities of the First and Second Watchung Mountains that slice through the District.
Prospect Park is the smallest community in the District, with a rich history of its own.
